I'm just getting started -- working my way through the 8 right-hand licks on the site. I find the right hand isn't hard, but putting it together with the left ties my brain in knots. I lose my place in the left hand, even when it's the basic 5/5/6/6/5/5/6/6 bass line. Any suggestions for how to get that right?

Thanks Jesse for posting your question! As pglombardo mentioned above, that video gives a good example of what I go through to get any new left hand independent. Try out some of the exercises shown there, and be patient. Teaching your brain to do a new motor pattern unconsciously takes time and consistent practice (20-30min each day will yield more results than 10 hours all in one day).
