Beautiful video! Thanks for sharing! Great hand independence and tempo. To take it to the next level I would say go back and listen to some of the subtleties in Jimmy Yancey's playing - specifically his use of syncopation (unexpected rhythms) and dynamics within the execution of separate licks.
For example, you'll hear that he rarely plays the same lick in the same rhythm twice. Try to copy what he does, but also fool around with the rhythms in your own practice and see what you come up with.
That would really be taking things to a master's level but I think you're ready for that with what I can see here. Keep up the great work!
@arthurmigliazza thanks for the very helpful reply Arthur 😊❤️🎹 I did think that something “wasn’t quite right” as I played it and I seem to remember you mentioning this back when I originally learnt it too 🙈
I’ll go back to the original recording and listen carefully for the syncopations you describe 😊
thanks Arthur 😀
Ahhhhh I wondered why it hadn’t appeared again 😐😐 thanks Arthur 😊
Very good! I love Jimmy Yancey's stuff. Nicely played.
