Is there a link to the "new" shredder section ?

If you have the book the answer is on Page 34... Looks like the rule is: You play the root of the next chord on "4 and" so when you are changing from C to F bar 4 to 5 the last bass note of the RH riff is F but the LH bass pattern does not change. Does it always do that?

As a beginner, one thing that helped me was this (Search video: "Piano Think with Dr Scott Holden: Double Thirds") - nothing to do with boogie! My fingers were simply collapsing (just going to like jelly) after trying to play the RH blues riff once or twice repeatedly... I'm still working on the 3 and 5... and getting 4 out of the way... and now it's my chord changes... seems like I get one bit working ok then it doesn't sound right with the other bit !!!

Hi, yeah - beat 2 is Bb - ok good. I copied the system (badly) from Shawn Cheek - he actually puts the bass on the bottom! A video recording - yes I'm getting there very slowly - I keep the headphones on most of the time for the sake of the neighbours 😁

Thanks Arthur – I’ve ordered the book but going to take a while to get here! I know how to explain it better now: It’s going from G to F to C the V VI I ending is what I am trying to practice and what is confusing me. What I am doing (and feels right) is: G to F LH plays D on 4+ as it normally does RH plays F not G (as if I were repeating the lick in G again) F to C LH plays C on 4+ as it normally does RH plays C (bit of a stretch for me not F as if I were repeating the lick in F again) 😀

Thanks arthur ... yes seems like I am "tapping" and not "pressing" on the keys as the books say you should - I will try and connect the notes more like you've indicated.

😊 OK - I put the drums on at 100 and this is what it sounds like... something doesn't seem right - like I am hitting it on the beat but the notes don't seem to ring on or last like they should or something?

I had/have the same problem - feels like I need to go to the gym for my left hand... But I think I know what my problem is: height and concentration... If I add another chair (we have those white stack-able plastic ones) I can play longer and if... I don't look at the keyboard, I mean I look out of the window or read the kid's rules for long division which are on the wall to the side... it seems to prevent the tension building up... I feel looser... BTW... adding another chair is not "the" solution - I think that's also telling me I need to sit more upright... and maybe then build the piano bench😁
