Tony was having trouble with posting "permissions" here (I'm still working on this). In the meantime, here is what Tony wanted to write. Check his song out and let him know what you think!: Dear Superstars of Boogie-Woogie I have always admired how Christmas songs get played every year, so thought I'd write a song about the (less-explored) New Year. And I've ended up with a boogie-woogie song, which is a slight problem as I don't play piano well enough to do B-W. So I've used a generic B-W MIDI file I found on t'tinternet, chopped it up a bit, and added the other parts myself. I like how it's turned out - https://soundcloud.com/ant_in_wales/new-year - but am curious to know what people think and see if anyone wants to take it out into the world and let it live. Does anyone want to cover it or do anything with it? Lyrics and basic chord layout available if needed Best wishes Tony Jones Aberystwyth

I'm posting this on behalf of Dave, who for unknown reasons isn't being allowed to publish on the forum (I'm still working on figuring this out). In the meantime, check out his progress with this classic George and Hersal Thomas tune from back in 1922. Let him know what you think!

...upload your video to YouTube (can be "unlisted") and email me the link (info @ schoolofboogie . com) I will make the post for you. Sorry for this! I have checked and everyone should have permission to post here, so I'm confused about it as well.

The new "Shredder" section has lots of fun ways to use the minor blues scale, plus other fancy techniques you may want to incorporate. In general, this is a more 'advanced' section of the site, so if you are a beginner you may find these lessons a bit frustrating. I would go through lessons 1-4 first, and then do the other ones at your own liberty. I have tried at length to get them to display in order, but for unknown reasons they will not display in the order that I have arranged them. I do apologize for this. At present they are just links to the videos. At some point in the future, I hope to add sheet music transcriptions as well as a paragraph of text to accompany each one. The "Mega-Shredder" lesson does have a sheet music transcription available thanks to the work of one of my students. The link to it can be found in its video description on YouTube (visible when you watch the video). Thank you for your patience and I hope you still find these lessons useful, even in their current state.

As I have started creating sheet music to help supplement some of the lessons, I thought it would be a good idea to have a central repository for all of the sheet music I create. Now you can find everything at the "bookstore"! :-)

I am working on building a New Orleans Piano section of the site. The information will include what is covered in my new book, "How to Play New Orleans Piano", as well as other misc info I come up with along the way. The book has been released, and can be found in the "Bookstore" area of the site. Videos and lessons will be gradually uploaded and added over the coming months. Enjoy!

This is a repost from another section, but I thought it would belong here... Fabio_Christian wrote: Hi, I'm in Brazil. First of all, excuse me for my English because this is not my native language. With a lot of focus I have achieved some independence in the hands satisfactorily, but still far from being master. I received Arthur's book recently, although I first met him on YouTube, learned some licks, and then bought the book. I have suffered more with the walking bass, I still transfer a lot of tension to the hands, but I have been working on it. I'd like an Arthur tip about how to handle the nervousness of playing in public. In my case, even playing piano for people close to me (friends), they all keep their eyes on my hands and I start to tense and soon my hands begin to stiffen and the nervousness takes care of me. How to stay calm and secure when you are the center of attention? It sounds funny, and it really is. But it is difficult to overcome this. :)
